Brief
History
Even after passing of
twenty nine years of independence, the situation of teachers is almost as
similar as at the time of independence. The struggle of teachers regarding
effective representation of their grievances and demands in front of their
respective authorities and union authorities bring up a thought in the mind of
leaders and after serious laboriousnessand exchange of thoughts leaders
came with an ideato
form a Nationallevel body for all cadres of teachers to make efforts for
uniting teachers under an umbrella where as several state unions persist in
different states but there is less number of effective and strong national
unions. This is the ALL INDIA FEDERATION OF TEACHERS ORGANIZATIONS
(A.I.F.T.O.).
Foundation
It was incepted on
23 January, 1976 at Ahmedabad, Gujrat. The first pillars and founders of the
AIFTO were Mr. V. K. Manchanda, Mr. Ram Prakash Gupta and
Mr. Shive Kishore Sanadhya.

The first National Level conference was held at Ahmedabad, Gujrat. It was inaugurated by ………………. The founder President of AIFTO was Late Mr. Sanadhya and the Secretary General was Late Mr. Pandit. It was their honest and hard work and dedication that developed AIFTO to a strong organization for all cadres of teachers at national level. The AIFTO has now 26 active state teacher associations affiliated to it with almost 1.2 million of teacher members.
